The Spirit Cannot Fail

Although leading a spiritual life includes being healthy, charitable, generous, kind, compassionate, forgiving, and wise; it does not mean that we are unspiritual if we continually fail at the same. We are permitted to make mistakes and learn at our own pace when developing spiritually, mentally, and/or physically. We will not be Saints by tomorrow simply because we decide that we are going to practice being healthy and compassionate today. It takes time to upgrade our usual patterns and to reverse the symptoms of our bad habits. Being consistently kind and calm is not necessarily an easy thing to do. Our defensive and sometimes aggressive natures are survival mechanisms adopted in a dark and cruel world. However, as we awaken, we notice how reacting “negatively” affects our own minds and bodies. Simply daydreaming about being vibrant and healthy is already a sign of minimal development and growth. The universal force will forgive and transform us if we change our way of thinking or behaving in the same way that our bodies forgive us (and heal) if we change our diet for the better. The more we fail at reaching our goals, the closer we get to succeeding. It is in and of the Spirit that we wish or pray for perfect health in faith of becoming strong enough to withstand its powerful force and energy. We may not succeed today but even just thinking about becoming a healthier individual is a step in the right direction.
